Collision
Today is a fateful day for an..accident
I was on bus 105 towards Orchard. Along the way, the bus 105 stopped behind bus 198 at the bus stop. Nothing was amiss.
Suddenly, bus 105 moved forward and bang-ed bus 198. We thought perhaps accidently. Then bus 105 bang-ed bus 198 again. This time, bus 105's windshield cracked badly. It didn't break into pieces but I think its pretty close.
All of us in the bus were just stunned.
*Thoughts*
- the bus 105 driver bus have fallen asleep/day dream?
- panic-ed and accelarated rather than reverse, thus bang-ed the 2nd time.
The bus 105 driver? He was stunned too i think. He turned around and said Sorry. The 198 bus driver came over and gave him a piece of his mind. And turn around to us and asked ' Is anybody hurt'.
Nobody was hurt in both buses.
What do we do next? We were asked to disembark the bus and wait for another bus.
Hope the bus 105 driver doesn't get into trouble. After all, nobody got hurt. Well..except that the bus 105 windshield need to be fixed and bus 198 engine may need to be checked.
Amazing Race
Today..... is Walk-In-Selection (WIS) for Mature Estate Nov'05 D-DAY! THE selection Day.
We are holding queue number 40. Our hearts pounding as the queue numbers in front of us are called. And our hearts aching seeing our preferred units turning red. (meaning taken up)
Do we have hope, do we have a chance to select? Or are we going back empty-handed....again...?
*flash back*
Thursday, 17th November 2005
6:30am. On thursday when the news came out on the WIS selection. It was raining heavily on Thursday morning. We woke up early, grab a cab and rushed off to HDB. Arrived at HDB and saw a queue already formed. We reached there at 6:30am! And there were 39 people in front of us. People with bed, blanket, chairs all camping there. 40 seems like a good queue number, compared to our previous WIS, we were queue number 500+.
8am. HDB open and we filled and submit the form. yada yada yada.
8:30am. The queue number at this point is now 185. Went back to work looking like a panda.
Saturday/Sunday, 19th/20th November 2005
10am. We started the amazing race to visit potential units offered. Visit units at Queenstown, Tiong Bahru, Old Airport Rd, Bedok, Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh. Knock on neighbours doors within the same unit different floor to ask to view their flat to get a better idea.
God has been great. All those that we knocked, gladly open their door, invited us in and gave us a tour around their home, except 2 were not too comfortable.
We met a lot of couples, and exchange ideas, tips. And found out some are queue number 1000+. Eek!
Sunday 3:00pm. Evaluation Time. Units in Toa Payoh and Queenstown are WOW! Some have Super WOW views. (So is the price) Sort and place the preferred units in priority.
*end flashback*
Is it our queue number yet? 40! Go Go Go! We went in and did a quick check with the HDB personnel. Is this taken? How about this? How about that? Oh..this one is not taken. No, not taken but chinese eligibility no more. :( How about this. It is still available. Okay..please book!
*booked*. Can you help us to check the other units if still available? In case we missed out.
Taken taken taken taken taken no chinese eligibility.
